How do I find the right PHA for me?
You can apply to any PHA whose service area includes your current address or the place you intend to move under portability. Many households fall inside several overlapping jurisdictions, a city PHA, a county PHA, and sometimes a statewide authority, so this tool lists every PHA in the state. Apply to as many open waitlists as you qualify for.
Does a larger PHA mean a shorter wait?
Not necessarily. Larger PHAs administer more vouchers and often open their waitlists more frequently, but they also serve more applicants. Smaller PHAs may have shorter lists but open them rarely. The authorized-unit count shown here is a measure of program scale, not current availability.
Where does this list come from?
Every PHA shown is drawn from HUD’s Public and Indian Housing (PIH) Open Data directory, the federal inventory of certified housing authorities. We do not add or remove agencies. Confirm current waitlist status with each PHA directly.
